USCIS assisted federal investigators in a case that led to charges against Luis Raul Gonzalez-Pardo Rodriguez, a 64-year-old Cuban national accused of fraud, misuse of visas and documents, and making false statements on his Form I-485 application. Prosecutors allege he lied about his decades of service and weapons training in the Cuban Revolutionary Air and Air Defense Force, denying any military involvement despite a long career as a military pilot. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to 15 years in prison. The FBI, USCIS, ICE, and the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service jointly investigated the case, which will be prosecuted by federal attorneys from both the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
