Haitian Alien Pleads Guilty to Illegally Voting in 2024 Election

Valery Zidor, a 23-year-old Haitian national, pleaded guilty in federal court on September 22 to falsely claiming U.S. citizenship on two Miami-Dade County voter registration forms and voting in the 2024 general election despite not being a U.S. citizen. She pleaded guilty to two counts of falsely claiming citizenship to vote and one count of voting by a noncitizen. She faces up to five years in federal prison; a judge has not yet imposed a sentence. Homeland Security Investigations Miami investigated the case with assistance from USCIS.
