U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has expanded its asylum operations by opening an additional asylum office location in San Antonio, Texas. Effective May 28, 2026, individuals who have filed affirmative asylum applications with USCIS and reside within the Houston Asylum Office’s jurisdiction may be scheduled for interviews at either the Houston Asylum Office or the new San Antonio location. This expansion is intended to increase interview capacity and improve USCIS’s ability to process asylum cases more efficiently. The new San Antonio office is located at 106 S. St. Mary St., 7th Floor, San Antonio, TX 78205, while all mail correspondence should continue to be sent to the Houston mailing address at 16855 Northchase Drive, 2nd Floor, Houston, TX 77060. USCIS advises asylum applicants to carefully review their interview notices, as the notice will contain important information regarding the date, time, and location where they must appear for their asylum interview.
